A Lawyer Becoming A Pilot

Once upon a time, there was a little boy whose father was living in Kuala Lumpur while the boy and his mother were staying in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. On every weekend, the father would board a flight to come home. and the boy and his mother would fetch the head of the family at the airport.

Being a regular visitor of the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport at that time, the boy had a chance to see the planes took-off and landing on the runway. Everytime the plane took off, the boy will run alongside the fence and making the similar sound as produced by the CFM56-3C1 engine of the Boeing 737-400.

He started to wonder, "how does a such big, heavy, metal bird can fly up in the sky?" The next question that's begging for an answer- "who is flying this thing?" Later, he found out that they are called PILOTS. Then he said to himself that he wanted to become one, to fly like a bird, high in the blue skies. Then, his journey began..

Well, enough about the fairy tale. We all know who am i talking about :P

What happen next was that, after getting the result for my Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia in 2001, i received an offer to read law in International Islamic University Malaysia (UIA). During that time, i was like half-hearted and in dilemma whether to pursue my childhood dream or to grab any offer that comes first.

After painstakingly considered all the options and with the advice from my parents, i chose to accept the offer first as i think to get a law degree isn't a bad idea at all. As a matter of fact, law is the second thing that interests me. Besides, there's no age limit to obtain a Commercial Pilot License, and having a degree would definitely be an advantage for me. (even one of Air Asia pilots has Ph.D in geotechnical engineering) :P

Former lecturer who became a commercial pilot - Dr. Thirunavukkarasu Jr

But i had to bear in mind that, it's gonna take me another 6 years (managed to do it in 5) before graduation and anything can happen between that time. I knew it's not gonna be easy for me, people study law to become a lawyer (or something related - Magistrates,DPPs etc. ), but to become a pilot?Hmmm...sounds too remote , isn't it? Nonetheless, i believe i can make it through. Just like Miley Cyrus soundtrack in Hannah Montana - Get The best Of Both Worlds! :)

Well, the story continues...
